Sega has placed a Sonic VMS data file on the internet which can be downloaded into your VMS. The next time you play Sonic with this data file, there will be a brief explanation of the game's menus in english.

To download the file, you first have to upload your score to the internet and fill out a survey. It will then ask you if you want to download the sound data.
